👋 Have you met Sheriff (🇦🇪)?

A few weeks ago I met Sherif, a super cool SDR at Deel, a global HR platform. With this job, Sheriff is actively participating in making Remote Work normalized around the world. And to walk the talk, he’s a Swedish pal currently working remotely from Dubai (United Arab Emirates). How cool is that?

Sheriff loves cold-calling and his goal is to “Make cold calls great again”. So, if you are an SDR or a Sales Manager, you should follow him on LinkedIn to get awesome cold call tips.

💡 Sheriff’s Remote Work tips:

  • 🏋️‍♀️ Do some physical activity in the morning
    → 30 mins is a great start

  • 📵 Don’t forget to disconnect
    → have occasional breaks

  • ☕️ Connect with colleagues and peers to get a sense of belonging
→ nobody ever said no to a virtual chat

🗽 Sheriff’s must-see in Dubai:

An easy question for Sheriff as he responded without hesitation:
Aura Skypool, you get a 360 view of Dubai from the 50th floor. Insane view”

  • Great News! NYC Mayor Eric Adams has changed his stance on remote work and announced a pilot program allowing NYC municipal workers to work remotely for up to two days a week. This shift recognizes the post-pandemic reality and offers workers flexibility. Adams acknowledges that some roles cannot be performed remotely but emphasizes the importance of adapting to the changing work landscape.

  • Bust the myths! Remote and hybrid work often come with misconceptions that can hold companies back. Don't fall into the trap. Clearing up these misconceptions can lead to increased productivity, work-life balance, collaboration, and employee satisfaction. Embrace the truth and unlock the potential of the new era of work!

🏋️‍♀️ Remote move challenge

Many remote jobs involve sitting behind a desk for extended periods, which can lead to various issues related to health, productivity, and mental well-being.

To keep yourself active and energized this week, I have a challenge for you:

☑️ Incorporate at least one walking call into your schedule
☑️ Dedicate one hour per day to working while standing
☑️ Take at least four 5-minute walks every workday

Try it and see how it positively impacts your productivity and well-being!

📊 Remote Stat of the week

82% of remote workers work from home according to Buffer’s State Of Remote Work 2023.

It’s important to highlight that Remote Work is not a synonym for Work From Home. There are many alternatives including co-working spaces, coffee shops, or even working at a friend’s place.

The beauty of Remote Work is the flexibility that allows individuals to explore different environments that suit their needs and preferences.
