Welcome back (future) Remote Champ,
Iβm particularly proud of this week's newsletter because of the ultra-unique destination π
With a population of only 50.000, I had the chance to meet the coolest person in Saint Kitts and Nevis π°π³

π A glimpse of what you can expect today
π°π³ Meet Jarez
π How to supercharge remote work
π 8 companies hiring remotely
And so much more π

π Meet Jarez (π°π³)
I met Jarez on LinkedIn and we quickly started talking. When I noticed he lived in Saint Kitts and Nevis, I had no choice but to feature him in this newsletter.
But who is Jarez and why is he working remotely?
Well, Jarez launched his own bookkeeping company for SMBs and solopreneurs called Clear Cash Global Bookkeeping. He mainly operates with clients based in the US and Caribbean region.
On the side, he also owns a small procurement company that led him to meet a lot of people from different countries. This made him realize he could work from anywhere and didnβt need to work from an office. His favorite place to work is still at home, though π
PS: Did you know that Saint Kitts and Nevis is 469x times smaller than New York?
π‘ Jarezβs Remote Work tips:
β
Make a physical to-do list so nothing gets forgotten
β Prioritize things with the biggest return.
β
Take short breaks especially if you work long hours
β Nothing better to keep you motivated than a well-deserved break to give your mind some rest.
β
Take a day off or half a day when needed
β Donβt forget to give yourself some time off. When things are too much, take a step back.
π BONUS: to not feel lonely as a remote worker
β Jarez is always one phone call away from a loved one to avoid feeling lonely.
π½ Jarezβs must-see in Saint Kitts and Nevis:
Iβm not much of a hiker but the highest peak on the island is worth it; Mount Liamuiga. For a laid-back weekend, a must-do is spending a weekend at the Eco Boutique Hotel Kittitian Hill.

π§βπ« Tips to land a remote job
Another week, another tip from Kristin Vierra, the Remote Career Coach π₯ to help you land a remote job and level up your remote career.
TIP OF THE WEEK:
Don't downplay your experience. Use strong action verbs on your resume.
One way to show impact in the experience section of your resume is to start each statement with a strong action verb.
Some examples of strong action verbs include: Spearheaded, initiated, launched, executed, led founded, etc. Here are a few examples to support you:
Without Strong Action Verbs:
Managed a team of remote employees and ensured they met project deadlines.
Responsible for conducting virtual project team meetings and providing project status updates to team members.
Assisted with remote project coordination and document management.
With Strong Action Verbs:
Orchestrated the successful management of a remote team, consistently achieving project deadlines.
Led virtual project team meetings, delivering crucial project updates to team members for streamlined collaboration.
Streamlined remote project coordination and maintained meticulous document control.
Friendly reminder to include those touches to showcase your remote experience while using strong action verbs.
