Welcome back (future) Remote Champ,
This week weโre traveling to beautiful Montenegro ๐ฒ๐ช One of the hidden gems in Europe. And weโre meeting an adventurous Englishman who settled there a few years back.

๐ A glimpse of what you can expect today
๐ฒ๐ช Meet Jonathan
๐ 6 ways to retain Gen Z workers

And so much more ๐

๐ Meet Jonathan (๐ฒ๐ช)
When I announced that Iโd be interviewing remote workers from every country in the world, Jonathan was one of the first people to contact me.
His enthusiasm and background intrigued me and Iโm super happy to have finally met him virtually last week ๐ช He confirmed my first feeling and we had a great moment talking about our experiences abroad!
After 10 years of nomading, a few years of living on a boat, traveling the world, and having a travel blog, Jonathan said it was time to settle down. And he ended up moving to Montenegro. In the meantime, he created his own company, montenegrodigitalnomad.com, helping others to easily settle in that beautiful country too.
Itโs funny because when I asked him โWhy remote?โ he responded very seriously: โ'm fairly sure I'm totally unemployable to most employers at this point!โ. Gotta appreciate the sincere answer ๐
๐ก Jonathanโs Remote Work tips:
โ
Build structure around your life
โ Schedule your time to avoid jumping from one thing to the other.
โ
Figure out your ideal remote work environment
โ It doesnโt matter if thatโs home, an office, your coach, or in a cafรฉ. As long as it works for you!
โ
Learn to filter the noise about remote work
โ Donโt listen to every guru you see on the internet. What is really important is whether or not it is beneficial to you and your goals, and that's for you to decide!
๐ BONUS: to not feel lonely as a remote worker
โ Have real-life friends with whom you can do real-life activities!
๐ฝ Jonathanโs must-see in Montenegro:
Without hesitation: the mountains.

๐งโ๐ซ Tips to land a remote job
Another week, another tip from Kristin Vierra, the Remote Career Coach ๐ฅ to help you land a remote job and level up your remote career.
3 quick tips for your remote job search:
1. Tap into your creative strengths to stand out on the job search (videos, website design, creative writing, etc). Target this creativity to the role and company culture.
2. COMMUNICATION is vital in asynchronous work. Don't just mention your excellent communication skills; show them with concrete examples.
3. Bring your authentic self to your job search. Culture fit is important. An aligned match allows you to be YOU.
