Welcome back (future) Remote Champ,

I have good and bad news for you today ๐Ÿ‘‡

The good news first: my ghostwriting business is doing well but that means I have less time to focus on Destination Remote.

So, after close to 20 remote champions from all over the world, Iโ€™ve decided to take a break with Destination Remote ๐Ÿ’” (thatโ€™s the bad news).

In this last edition (for the moment) weโ€™re meeting one of my dearest friends on LinkedIn. We started posting on LinkedIn around the same time and we pushed each other in our journey since the beginning.

Letโ€™s head to Slovenia ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ to meet my friend ๐Ÿ‘‡

PS. Donโ€™t forget to check out Flataway for this last edition. Itโ€™s a real no-brainer for people who love workations and working abroad!

๐Ÿ‘€ A glimpse of what you can expect today
  • ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Meet Nejc

  • ๐Ÿ”ฎ Gen Z is defining the Future of Work

  • โฐ Behind the 9-5

  • ๐Ÿงฒ Remote jobs attract more applicants

  • And so much more ๐Ÿš€

 ๐Ÿ‘‹ Meet Nejc (๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ)

Nejc is one of the fastest-growing โ€œTop Writing Voicesโ€ on LinkedIn. But thatโ€™s not all. The man has had 2394 lives before his LinkedIn career.

He has been a pilot in the army, a kindergarten teacher, heโ€™s been doing ads, heโ€™s a 3x ironman, heโ€™s a skydiver, and a mountain biker. You get it, he loves extreme stuff (yes kindergarten is extreme ๐Ÿ˜Ž).

Nejc lives in Slovenia and loves traveling. Although he often works from his apartment or from cafes, a few months back he moved to Tenerife for a month to enjoy nature (yes, he took his mountain bike with him). He loves being flexible and appreciates his moments of deep work to get sh*t done!

But why did Nejc choose to work remotely?

Simple. Because remote work gives him the flexibility to work whenever he wants and from wherever he wants. No commuting, no bullsh*t. He loves it because it gives him so much more time to do other things.

๐Ÿ’ก Nejcโ€™s Remote Work tips:

โœ… Know your focus time
โ†’ Find the time when you are the most productive and focused. If it's morning, then work in the morning. If it's evening, work in the evening.

โœ… Switch locations.
โ†’ I like to go to different bars because different locations give me new stimuli. It doesn't feel like a rut.

โœ… Say no to distractions.
โ†’ No phone no social media. I like to work in a block. 1 hour focus, then a quick break, and repeat.

๐ŸŽ BONUS: to not feel lonely as a remote worker
โ†’ Usually, I like to go to bars because of this. One thing that helps me is switching locations for a month. Going to a completely new country and meeting new people. I'm going to do it again.

๐Ÿ—ฝ Nejcโ€™s must-see in Slovenia:

โ€œNo doubt: the mountains!โ€

๐Ÿ–ฅ Set-up of the week

Thatโ€™s me, working in my favorite co-working space in Mauritius:

Workshop17 ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Why is it my fav?

Because feel inspired by the place. The architecture is so beautiful with loads of plants (I love green ๐Ÿชด) and a cool atmosphere.

Plus, I can book a meeting room whenever I need one, choose between different spots to work from, and meet cool people from all over the world.

Oh, and itโ€™s accessible 24/7. Just in case I would want to go work in the co-working space at 3 a.m. ๐Ÿ‘€
